A young man in Thanh Hoa Province has been arrested by police for allegedly snatching property from a woman traveling alone at night on a deserted road.
According to initial information, the victim was riding her motorbike when the suspect approached from behind on another motorbike, grabbed the gold necklace she was wearing, and quickly fled the scene.
As the incident happened very quickly in an isolated area, the victim was unable to react or pursue the suspect.
She later reported the case to local police. Upon receiving the report, authorities immediately launched an investigation, reviewing security camera footage and identifying potential suspects.
Through investigative measures, police identified the suspect as Le Cong Lam and subsequently detained him for further questioning.
The stolen property and the vehicle allegedly used in the crime were also seized as evidence.
The case is currently under further investigation for handling in accordance with the law.
Police have also advised the public, especially those traveling at night in sparsely populated areas, to remain vigilant and avoid displaying valuable jewelry in order to reduce the risk of becoming targets of street crime.
