On June 14, authorities in Hoài Đức district, Hanoi conducted an inspection of a major warehouse located in La Phù Commune, an area long known as Hanoi’s “candy capital” and uncovered a large quantity of food products with unidentified origins.
Specifically, Market management team no. 24, in coordination with the La Phù commune police, conducted a surprise inspection of a business operated by Mrs. P.T.H. born 1990, residing in La Phù, Hà Nội.
At the scene, officers found tons of confectionery, most of which had been pre-packaged but lacked any legal documentation or invoices proving their origin.
Initial counts revealed a wide range of products, including biscuits, gummy candies, lollipops, and chocolate, mostly packaged with foreign-language labels — raising suspicions of smuggling or unsafe production practices.
The business owner admitted that none of the goods had invoices, certificates, or any proof of origin.
Mrs. H. stated that she had sourced the products from various suppliers for summer sales.
All unidentified confectionery items were seized and sealed by authorities, and an official report was filed in accordance with legal procedures.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the full supply chain behind the violations.
