Prosecution of former Vietnam chess team leader

To Quoc Khanh, former leader of the Vietnamese national chess team, was prosecuted for allegedly betting on football online.

Khanh and Nguyen Van Thi, 52 years old and Nguyen Tuan Anh, 54 years old, were prosecuted by the Tay Ho District Police, Hanoi for gambling.

Khanh was released on bail, Ha Noi detective.

The police arrested Mr. Thi and Tuan Anh to investigate the football betting case.

Hanoi Vietnam detective service – Thi declared to grant Khanh a football betting account, to participate in gambling.

Khanh went to the Tay Ho District Police, Hanoi to surrender, admitting gambling behavior.

Khanh, 50 years old, won the national chess championship in 1994, with a high Elo of 2,318.

Khanh was dismissed from his position as the leader of the Vietnamese chess team attending the SEA Games, because of controversial decisions.
