Medical staff arrested for selling Covid-19 drugs

Information from the authorities in Ho Chi Minh City, two men named Thua, 40 years old and Thao, 36 years old, were arrested and detained by the Binh Tan District Police, Ho Chi Minh City. on abuse of position and power while performing official duties.

According to the investigation of the authorities, Thua is a pharmacy warehouse manager of Binh Tan District Medical Center, responsible for receiving the anti-viral drug molnupiravir 400 mg.

The antiretroviral drug molnupiravir (included in drug bag C) was distributed by the City Health Department for F0 to be treated at home, in the community or in a field hospital.

The drug is used under the special control of the Ministry of Health. If the drug has not been used up, the patient must return it to the Department of Health.
