Kien Giang provincial police are temporarily detaining 4 people for illegal gambling by selling lotteries.
Ho Chi Minh detective agency, on August 17, 2024, Kien Giang police arrested 5 subjects red-handed, including:
Ha Quoc Phuong; Nguyen Thi Thu Nhanh; Cao Hong Dieu; living together in Go Quao district; Quach My Tien, living in Vinh Thuan district; Le Thi Huong Nhi, living in Hau Giang, is performing the act of writing lottery numbers on cyberspace.
Ha Quoc Phuong is the leader of this illegal gambling ring in Vietnam.
Because Huong Nhi is raising a 1-month-old child, her family is sponsoring her according to the law.
The police confiscated 9 mobile phones, 5 tablets, 1 camera receiver and many documents.
The amount of the subjects’ online lottery transactions was 156 million VND. Authorities also confiscated more than 150 million VND and related exhibits.
Kien Giang Provincial Police said that the unit will continue to expand the case, according to legal regulations in Vietnam.
