Police in Kien An district, Hai Phong city, have detained a woman for allegedly breaking into a local resident’s home and stealing gold.
The suspect has been identified as Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, born 1992, residing in Nam Son Ward, Kien An District, Vietnam.
According to the investigation, on June 12, a woman named H.T.H., living in Dong Hoa Ward, reported to police that four chi (a traditional Vietnamese unit, approx. 1/10 of a tael each) of 9999 gold had gone missing from her wardrobe.
Authorities quickly identified Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan as the prime suspect, who had entered the house while no one was home.
Utilizing investigative techniques, Kien An police summoned Ngan for questioning.
She later confessed to the theft and admitted that she sold the stolen gold for personal spending.
The case is currently under further investigation, and authorities are completing the necessary procedures to prosecute the suspect in accordance with the law.
