Girl arrested for throwing paint at ex-boyfriend’s house in HCMC

On February 16, Thạnh Mỹ Tây Ward Police in Ho Chi Minh City initiated criminal proceedings and detained Phạm Ngọc Mỹ Tiên, 28, to investigate her for intentional damage to property.

According to initial findings, Tiên had previously been in a romantic relationship with a man living in a house on Xô Viết Nghệ Tĩnh Street.

After their relationship ended and conflicts arose in late 2025, she allegedly blamed her ex-boyfriend and developed an intention to retaliate.

In the early hours of February 13, Tiên wore a jacket, hat, and face mask to conceal her identity, then brought two buckets of paint to the house.

She poured paint onto the front door and continued to throw paint on the sides and rear areas of the property. The incident left multiple areas inside and outside the house stained, causing property damage estimated at more than VND 22 million.

After committing the act, Tiên fled the scene and returned to Vĩnh Long Province. Following the victim’s report, police reviewed surveillance footage, identified the suspect, and launched a manhunt.

Ho Chi Minh detective agency, approximately 12 hours later, authorities arrested Tiên while she was hiding in the province.

During questioning, Tiên admitted to the act and stated that her actions were driven by anger following the breakup.

After her arrest, she was taken back to the scene and required to help clean and remove the paint stains she had caused.

The case is currently under further investigation in accordance with the law.
