Under life pressure, a driver in Ho Chi Minh city went to the Tay Nam Ward Police to report that he had been strangled with a rope by three passengers who stole his car during the night.
The incident was reported around 2:40 a.m. on August 3rd, allegedly taking place on DT744 Street, from Phu An Ward to Tay Nam ward, about 2 kilometers from the Tay Nam ward people’s committee headquarters.
Authorities, including the Tay Nam Ward Police in coordination with the Criminal Police Department and the Forensic department, quickly arrived at the scene to investigate, checking surveillance cameras and collecting evidence.
During questioning, officers noticed the driver showed signs of dishonesty: the passengers had not committed any threats, violence, or causing any injuries.
The driver later admitted he had made a false report due to personal stress, unstable mental state, and a desire to attract attention.
Tay Nam Ward Police are currently preparing a case file to handle Mr. N.T.T, born in 1980, Ho Chi Minh city, under the charge of “reporting false or inaccurate information to a competent authority.”
