Director Arrested for Selling Fake Rolex Watches and Hermes Jewelry

Ho Chi Minh City police have arrested Trần Trung Du, director of Dwatch Trading and Services Co., Ltd., for allegedly infringing industrial property rights.

The Economic Police Department discovered that the company was suspected of selling counterfeit watches and jewelry bearing well-known luxury brands.

On October 2, police, in coordination with Market Surveillance Team No. 3, inspected the company’s premises on Go Dau Street, Tan Son Nhi Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Officers seized numerous watches, earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings bearing brands such as Rolex, Hermes, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Omega and Hublot, among others.

According to authorities, the products were unused and had no invoices or supporting documents.

They were suspected of bearing counterfeit trademarks protected in Vietnam. Their total listed retail value exceeded VND 2.5 billion.

Ho Chi Minh detectives, during questioning, Du said he had established Dwatch around January 2025.

Although aware that the trademarks were protected in Vietnam, he allegedly continued advertising and selling the products through the company’s website, Facebook and Zalo to make a profit.

Ho Chi Minh City police are continuing their investigation and will handle the case in accordance with the law.
