On the afternoon of July 30, a video circulated on social media showing a man brandishing a knife and threatening a three-wheeled motorbike driver on street no. 8, near the intersection with Le Van Tho Street in Thong Tay Hoi ward, Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.
In the clip, the man—dressed in black, wearing a face mask and helmet—stopped his motorbike in the middle of the road, approached the driver, and shouted aggressively.
When the driver responded, saying, “You can’t carry a knife like that, I’ll call the police,” the man stabbed the front tire of the three-wheeled vehicle, then returned to his motorbike, put the knife into his backpack, and left the scene.
Immediately after the incident, police from Thong Tay Hoi ward, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh city criminal police division, identified and temporarily detained the suspect for investigation.
Initial findings suggest the altercation stemmed from a traffic dispute. Authorities are continuing to work with those involved to clarify the situation.
